Anyway Durlacherallee continued passed the Gottesaue Palace and the fairgrounds towards the Autobahn in the direction of Durlach.

At approximately the 6K marker we passed the new building belonging to the EnBW power company, one of the main sponsors of the running events. EnBW is the third largest power supplier in Germany and have their corporate headquarters here in Karlsruhe.

Just down the street from the ENBW is one of Karlsruhe newest shopping possibilities. Wal-Mart, the largest trading corporation in the world, began its European activities in Karlsruhe. In 1999, it took over the “Wertkauf” group of the Mann family with the head office in Karlsruhe. The conditions were ideal for the integration of the company into the American global player.
